He had a spare bedroom being used for storage, but it was filled with boxes, had poor lighting, no desk setup, and felt cramped and uninspiring. He needed a dedicated workspace that would boost his productivity and separate work life from home life.

We converted the spare bedroom into a professional, efficient home office. First, we cleared out all the storage and painted the walls a sophisticated charcoal blue that Michael loved. We built a custom L-shaped desk spanning two walls, providing ample workspace for his three monitors, laptop, keyboard, and paperwork. The desk included a built-in cable management system with hidden channels and grommets to keep cords organized and out of sight. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves were installed on the third wall with a mix of open shelving for books and closed cabinets for files and supplies. We added under-shelf LED lighting to reduce eye strain. Task lighting came from a modern adjustable desk lamp and two wall-mounted reading lights. To address noise concerns for video calls, we installed acoustic panels on one wall disguised as decorative art pieces. A comfortable ergonomic chair was selected, and we added a small reading nook in the corner with a cozy armchair for breaks. The old carpet was replaced with easy-to-clean laminate flooring. Smart outlets were installed for voice control of lighting and equipment. Finally, we added blackout curtains to reduce screen glare and a small standing desk converter for health.
